Driver with toddler in car is arrested in Baldwin Village drive-by
The man opened fire on three people about 3 p.m., police say. No one was hurt.

A gunman, driving with a toddler in the back seat of his car, opened fire on three people in Baldwin Village this afternoon in what police described as a gang-related shooting.

The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident, which occurred about 3 p.m. on Pinafore Street, said Capt. James Craig of the Los Angeles Police Department. No one was injured, he said."He didn't hit anybody, fortunately," Craig said. Undercover officers were in the neighborhood at the time and immediately responded, he said.

The 6-month-old boy in the suspect's car was unharmed, Craig said. The boy was turned over to the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, he said. "This is the first time I've heard about a drive-by shooting with a toddler," he said. "And I've seen a lot."
