LAPPL Endorses Curren Price and Gil Cedillo

Los Angeles, April 1, 2013 – Today, the Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) announced its endorsement of Curren Price and Gil Cedillo for Los Angeles City Council.

“The LAPPL is proud to say it strongly supports and endorses Curren Price and Gil Cedillo because they respect and understand the important job that the men and women of the LAPD perform each day,” said LAPPL President Tyler Izen. “Police protection and the public’s safety in the home, workplace and neighborhood are critical for a prosperous Los Angeles. Strong communities start with safe communities, and with Curren Price and Gil Cedillo on the Council, we know that ensuring that we have adequate public safety for those living in our City will be a top priority.”

The LAPPL takes great care in making these endorsements and we believe that these candidates are serious about protecting the public and about making sure that the LAPD has the tools and resources we need to protect our communities. After a formal and standardized process, which included questionnaires and interviews by the Delegate Political Action Committee (PAC) and with the committee’s unanimous recommendation, the Board of Directors made its formal endorsement. The interview process is designed to ensure that candidates endorsed by the League share public safety as a top priority and will be able to work together to help create jobs, improve the city and implement practical solutions to everyday problems.
