Stairwell Assaults

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Los Angeles police today released a photo and composite drawing of a suspect believed responsible for sexual assaults on two victims, including a 13-year-old girl, in building stairwells. The first attack occurred about 10 a.m. on Nov. 7. The man followed the teen into a stairwell in the 6400 block of West Sunset Boulevard, where he sexually battered her, according to the LAPD.

The second victim was attacked four days later in her apartment building in the 500 block of South Hobart Boulevard. After confronting her and taking her money, he forced the young woman into a stairwell and sexually battered her, according to the LAPD.

The suspect was described as being an Hispanic man 25 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a heavy build. Anyone with information about his identity or whereabouts was asked to call Detective Roger Klohr in the LAPD's Operations West Bureau Sex Crimes unit at (213) 473-0421.
