South Central Wetlands Park
5413 S. Avalon Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90011

In 2004, LAPD Officer Ricardo Lizarraga was killed while responding to a domestic violence call. We run so that his legacy lives on. We run For Ricardo Lizarraga Elementary and many youths that live in South Los Angeles. This event will help support hundreds of youth from South Los Angeles with school supplies and after school youth programs.

This will be our 4th Annual Newton Street Run4Youth 5k/1K run/walk. This event will take you running on the streets of South Central past and through two beatifull parks (South Los Angeles Wetlands Park and Augustus Hawkins Nature Park).

This year we have added a bike ride "Bike with A Cop" for anyone who wants to ride their bikes alongside LAPD Officers assigned to the bike detail. The route will be the same as the 5k and will take place shortly after the 5K run is over. The bike event is free and is just for fun, no medal or T-shirt will be given.
