Sergeant Gustavo Marroquin

Serial No. 31234

is a 22-year veteran of the Department and has been assigned to the Addiction Prevention Unit (APU) since December of 2015. He has worked Patrol, Gang Enforcement and Administrative positions, prior to being assigned to APU, at Southwest Division, Pacific Division, Jail Division and Rampart Division.

Sergeant Marroquin is a lifetime Angelino; born and raised in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles (Northeast Division) and currently residing in Echo Park (Central Division). He is the youngest of four sons and has two older brothers in law enforcement; John, a 30-year member of the Department who is currently assigned to Rampart Division and Moises, a 20-year member of the California Highway Patrol who is currently assigned to Central Los Angeles Station. His only child; Stephanie is 25 years old and works as a news producer for CBS in Palm Desert, Ca.

Sergeant Marroquin has an Associate of Arts degree in Administration of Justice from Los Angeles City College and is currently attending Glendale City College to obtain state certification as a California Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Along with his personal sobriety of 10 years, his CADC certification will enable him to better assist Department employees and their immediate family members with chemical dependency related issues.

Sergeant Marroquin is passionate about lots of things; family, law enforcement, baseball/softball, and golf to name a few. However, he is most passionate about his sobriety, without which none of the others would be possible. He is grateful to “Pay it Forward” every day he works.
