LOS ANGELES, October 21, 2009 -- Members of the Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) have voted to ratify a new contract with the City of Los Angeles. The Election Committee has certified the ratification vote that was completed yesterday. The proposed MOU was passed by 87% (yes) of the 4,037 ballots cast by members.

"We will be working with the City representatives to move this MOU to the City Council and the Mayor for final approval," said LAPPL President Paul M. Weber. "This gives us the opportunity to proceed for the next 18 months knowing our working conditions and compensation are secure as we address the challenges that face our Department and the city."
