April 3, 2009 (Los Angeles) - The Los Angeles Police Protective League today announces its endorsement of Carmen “Nuch” Trutanich for Los Angeles City Attorney.

“Mr. Trutanich has the ideal mix of qualifications Los Angeles needs in its city attorney,” Los Angeles Police Protective League President Paul M. Weber said. “As a former gang prosecutor in the district attorney’s office, Mr. Trutanich has worked with LAPD officers and knows what it takes to win criminal cases. He has the respect of the rank-and-file officers as well as the endorsements of District Attorney Steve Cooley and Sheriff Lee Baca. Our officers look forward to working with him again as city attorney.”

“As the successful manager of a small law firm, Mr. Trutanich also knows the importance of maintaining good employee relations and how to properly allocate limited resources to make sure they have the most impact. Los Angeles needs a city attorney who knows how to work well with others and is willing to reexamine how the office spends its money,” Weber said.
