LAPPL endorses Joe Buscaino for reelection

Los Angeles, January 18, 2013 – The Los Angeles Police Protective League (LAPPL) today announces its endorsement of Councilmember Joe Buscaino for reelection to the Los Angeles City Council.

“Since first being elected in January 2012, Joe has fought hard to make our city safer and create jobs,” said Tyler Izen, president of the LAPPL. “Joe Buscaino has dedicated his life to serving the community and protecting the public’s safety. He was a full-time Los Angeles police officer before becoming an LAPD reserve officer. Joe is a fresh face to politics who takes great pride in his community and vigilantly fights for his constituents. In his short time on the Council, he has already shown an extreme amount of talent and energy, and his non-partisan approach allows him to be an effective problem solver.”

Recognizing the link between crime and economic development, Buscaino has been active in establishing and promoting a website for job-seekers in the greater Port of Los Angeles area. “Joe’s ties to the community, his involvement with philanthropic causes and his valuable insight about job creation enable him to understand the needs of the district and the families, businesses owners and police officers who live and work there,” Izen said. “Because of his dedication to the community and his unique understanding of public safety issues, the LAPPL strongly endorses Joe’s reelection to the City Council.”
