Dustin DeRollo has an extensive background in local government, public policy, and political campaigns. He specializes in providing our clients with media relations and strategic communication services, local government relations, and political and issue campaign management.
Co-founding Saggau & DeRollo, LLC in 2004, Dustin has provided media relations and government affairs advice to public agency and private sector clients such as the County of Santa Clara; the City of Martinez; KB Home; Atlantic Aviation; Los Angeles Police Protective League; San Jose Police Officers’ Association; HP and BP of North America.
In addition to his work in government, Dustin is adept at managing all aspects of campaigns. He’s successfully managed candidate campaigns and leads campaigns to assist local cities and school districts in passing parcel taxes and bond measures.
Dustin previously served as former San Jose Mayor Ron Gonzales’ Deputy Chief of Staff, where he led Gonzales’ neighborhood revitalization and public safety efforts, including the “Strong Neighborhood Initiative,” a $120 million effort to revitalize San Jose’s neighborhoods, and served as Gonzales’ designee on the Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force.
A political science graduate from San Jose State University, Dustin previously served as President of the Board of Education of the Franklin-McKinley School District and served as the Chair of Silicon Valley Education Foundation’s Legislative Advocacy Committee. A father of four daughters, Dustin lives in Santa Cruz, California with his wife, Alicia.
