Sergeant I, Los Angeles Police Department

Tim Jones is a sergeant with the Los Angeles Police Department who is currently assigned to Southeast Division. He currently supervises police officers as a field supervisor. He sits in as the Watch Commander when the Assistant Watch Commander and Watch Commander are absent. He currently serves as delegate for the Los Angeles Police Protective League for Southeast Division. He has been a police officer, training officer and detective.

He was born in Bellflower, Calif., and joined the Los Angeles Police Department on February 20, 1996. He was worked a variety of patrol assignments. His most notable assignments have been a staff writer for the Chief of Police. He was assigned to Major Crimes Division as a terrorism investigator. He has his bachelor’s degree from California State University Fullerton in English Literature. He served in the United States Navy. Additionally, he was a high school English teacher.

His current focus of study is domestic an international terrorism, as well as officer welfare as it relates to post traumatic stress.
