Police: Man Takes Baby on Drive-By Shooting

LOS ANGELES -- Police have arrested a man accused of going on a drive-by shooting with a baby in the back seat.

The suspect opened fire on three people around 3 p.m. Wednesday on Pinafore Street in South Los Angeles, said Capt. James Craig of the Los Angeles Police Department.

No one was injured in the shooting, which was believed to be gang related. Undercover officers were in the neighborhood at the time and immediately responded, Craig said.

The 6-month-old boy was found unharmed in the suspect's back seat and a handgun was found next to the driver, according to police. The man's identity was not released.

The baby was turned over to the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services. It was not immediately clear whether the baby was related to the man.
